2019年5月24日に「#Update 19」が追加され「CPUの供給不足が一向に改善されない為無料で”Pentium N5000からPentium J5005にアップグレード”」される模様です。

We are so sorry for late update because we didn’t get CPU before and can’t give you certain schedule.We don’t want to give you unfixed schedule and then we can’t achieve it and make you disappointed again,then loss your trust again.

Great news we resolved CPU shortage issue finally now and we paid higher cost to get enough replaced CPU J5005(Pin to pin with N5000).As you know N5000 CPU in serious shortage and we can’t get even 1pc,so we decide to upgrade all backer’s Falcon to J5005 for free,about J5005 pls allow me to share below points:

1.We already get enough J5005 CPU,pls check the below pictures.

2.Both CPU and GPU frequency is higher than N5000,stability and whole performance are higer than    N5000.You can check their comparison with the below links:

You also can search J5005 and N5000 separately with Intel official website links:www.intel.com and compare their spec. yourself.Then you can see nearly most spec. of them are same,but the CPU and GPU of J5005 are stronger than N5000.

3.We already started roasting CPU,then will do PCBA SMT next week,then pilot production,aging testing,then mass production,according to the current planning and progress,fist finished units will be finished produciton and testing&inspection about 10th,June.Then we can start shipping backers Falcon one by one during June 11th to 20th.

4.We will share more production pictures on production line in a new update next week once we started mass production.

Pentium Silver N5000の供給問題が一向に改善されず高いコストを支払い、Pentium Silver J5005に切替えた事でようやく一歩進めたようです。

Pentium Silver N5000とPentium Silver J5005の違いとは

Pentium N5000とPentium J5005の違いは主に「定格周波数及びTB時の周波数、TDP、オンボードグラフィックの周波数」となっており、詳しくは以下の通り。

Pentium N5000がモバイル向けだったのに対しPentium J5005はデスクトップ用(主にNUC等)となっており、定格周波数が1.1→1.5GHz(+400MHz)、バースト周波数が2.7→2.8GHz(+100MHz)、TDPが6W(SDP4.8W)→10W SDP無(+4W)、グラフィック定格周波数が200→250MHz(50MHz UP)、グラフィック最大周波数が750→800MHz(50MHz UP)と殆どの項目においてアップグレードされています。

但しモバイル向けからデスクトップ向けへと変更されたためかSDPが無くなってしまっており、パフォーマンスは高くなるものの、省電力性、発熱の高さが問題になってくる可能性があります。

2019年6月11日～20日前後に出荷を予定

既にCPUは入手済み、半田付けを開始しているようでマザーボードへのSMT(表面実装)後、試験生産、テスト及び検査などを行った6月11日～20日前後にFalconを出荷開始できるとの事。

毎度のことながらこれほど大きい設計変更を行っているため「予定通りいくはずがない」と思っておいた方が良いでしょう。

仮にこの期間で発送が開始されたとしてもバッテリー周り、発熱周りで何らかの影響が出てきそうな気がするので、油断は大敵でしょう。

量産を開始後、生産ラインの写真を共有する予定

量産を開始出来た際にはより多くの生産ラインの写真をアップロードする予定との事。

この辺りは出資者側のコメントが色濃く反映されている気がします。
